The Three Card Poker is an easier and straightforward game in all of the poker card games whether played in actual scenario or online. Unlike the other usual games, the player is not dealt with five cards but three cards. So the player has to make the best of these three cards alone. The player also plays directly against the dealer.

The Three Card Poker involves two games within itself – the Pair Plus game and the Ante game. The payouts of both these games is different and should be known to the player because he has to make a bet. The payouts for the Pair Plus game are as follows:

• Three of a Kind 30:1
• Straight Flush 40:1

Whereas the payouts for the Ante Game are:

In Ante game, they place their wager in the Ante circle and have the choice of either folding or raising their bet by placing another bet in the play circle. The idea behind the play circle is that the player must defeat both the dealer and the dealer should at the same time be having a qualifying hand. A qualifying hand means that the dealer should have a Queen high or better.

Three Card Poker Strategy:  Pair Plus

There is not much that you can do about the Pair Plus game except that you can only place a second wager which will get paid at the end according to the pay table, no matter what the dealer is holding.  However it is the Ante game where the real strategy comes into action.

Wise experts say that it is better to raise in the Ante Play when you have seen your cards. But before raising you should consider a few things; for example will the dealer qualify and if he does will your hand beat the dealer’s hand. This leaves to a simple solution – if you have a hand which includes a Queen, 6, 4, then you should bet on it and if you don’t then simply fold.  This is the simple Three Card Poker Strategy.
