Nuts Poker League – UK Pub Poker

Nuts Poker League was the UK’s first pub poker league which has set the trends for many such pub poker leagues. It is 100% legal and was started by Steve Bellis of North Wales. The league offers pubs that hold poker in their venues to be part of a bigger championship and the players can get a chance to participate in national quarter finals and finals.  The champions poker league and heartland poker tour are similarly formed poker groups.

This national poker league also started out from a small pub. Steve initiated a poker’s league at his own pub. As the participation and interest of players grew, so did the popularity of the league and before he knew it, other pubs wanted to become a part of it too. The league was gaining a higher status and Steve was offered to host leagues in other places too until he took his brain child to more prominent investors at Dragons Den and there is no looking back since then. The Nuts league did indeed become the reason for many other such leagues but still stands firm as the most popular poker league in the UK.

The player can then go to the venue any time before the game starts and inform the tournament director about his interest. The director will then take necessary information from the player and give him a membership number.

Of course the membership number is important because every time the player plays poker, the points he earns will be added up against that membership number. It will also allow the players to play from different venues.

Nuts Poker League – Tournament Director

The tournament director is also the one who runs the show at every game night. They also make sure that all members get a game on that night and deals with any player-behavior issues, hand ranking and points allocation.

The pub leagues have game season and there are four seasons divided over the whole year. Each season has three months. The number of days can vary. The games which come between these dates are included for that season only. Winners of these seasons then compete with each other in the National Finals which are held in May and November.
